Nataliya Shalenna

Researcher

Nataliya Shalenna holds a position of Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of International Relations Faculty at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (IFNUL). In 2004 she graduated from the International Relations Faculty of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. In 2013 Shalenna defended her dissertation at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (Ukraine) and was conferred a PhD degree in Political Science.

In 2014 Dr. Shalenna conducted a post-doctorate research (Integration of Muslim Refugees (Immigrants) from the Post-Soviet Area into the European Societies: case study of the Netherlands) at the University of Groningen. She participated in Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility Programme in 2016 (METU, Turkey) and 2019 (University of Zagreb, Croatia). Since 2019 she has been a participant of the Erasmus+ project “Rethinking Regional Studies: the Baltic-Black Sea Connection”.

Her research interests include European integration processes, EU enlargement, Turkish foreign policy, Muslim minorities in Europe.
